Privacy policy

This page sets out what NAYINA collects, why, who it is shared with, and what you can require of us. It is written to be read, not endured.

Who we are

NAYINA is a West African womenswear label. This site is published by [LEGAL ENTITY TO BE COMPLETED], registered at [ADDRESS TO BE COMPLETED].

For any question about your data, write to us on WhatsApp or at [EMAIL TO BE COMPLETED]. We answer within thirty days at the latest.

What we collect

Simply browsing the site, we collect nothing that identifies you. No account is required, no form is imposed.

Three situations are exceptions, and only if you trigger them yourself:

  • You place an order — ordering happens over WhatsApp. We then receive your number, the name shown on your WhatsApp account, and the content of your message: the pieces chosen, colours, sizes and, for made-to-measure, the measurements you send us. These exchanges take place inside WhatsApp and are also governed by Meta's privacy policy.
  • You sign up to the newsletter — we keep your email address, and nothing else.
  • You accept audience measurement — we record aggregated statistics: pages viewed, country, device type. Never an individual identifier.

What is stored on your device

NAYINA sets no cookies. The site uses your browser's local storage, which is never sent to our servers:

  • nayina-cart — the contents of your cart, so it survives from page to page. Kept until you empty it.
  • nayina-currency — the currency you chose to display.
  • nayina-consent — your choices on this page, kept for thirteen months, after which we ask again.

Why, and on what basis

Order details serve to prepare and ship your piece: that is the performance of the contract you are asking us to enter into.

Your email address is used for the newsletter only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link.

Audience measurement rests on your consent, collected through the banner and revocable at any time.

Who this is shared with

We do not sell or rent your data. Nobody buys audience from us. Only four providers are involved:

  • Meta Platforms — for the WhatsApp exchanges that carry your orders.
  • Brevo — for sending the newsletter.
  • Plausible Analytics — for audience measurement, if you accepted it.
  • Our hosting provider, to run the site and the shop.

How long we keep it

Order exchanges are kept as long as needed for follow-up, warranty and any applicable accounting obligations.

Your email address stays on the newsletter until you unsubscribe.

Audience statistics are aggregated and cannot be traced back to a person.

Transfers outside your country

Our providers operate from the United States and the European Union. Your information may therefore be processed outside your country of residence, under the contractual safeguards each provider has in place.

Your rights if you live in the United States

Depending on your state of residence — California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and other states with equivalent laws — you have the following rights:

  • To know what information we hold about you and obtain a copy.
  • To request its deletion.
  • To request its correction.
  • To opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. NAYINA does not sell or share your information for those purposes, and never intended to.
  • To face no difference in treatment, price or service for exercising any of these rights.
  • To appoint someone of your choosing to exercise these rights on your behalf.

Your rights if you live in Europe or the United Kingdom

The General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to access your information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict its processing, to request its portability, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent already given at any time.

You may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.

Children

This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information about them. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

This policy may change as the site does. The date at the top shows the latest version. A substantial change to the categories subject to consent will be put to you again through the banner.
